My name is Julia Gangloff, I live in Southern Illinois and I write an article for a local paper once per week for the benefit of the Randolph County Humane Society. This blog is the result of those writings. I live on the most beautiful 25 acre farm with my husband, Tim, our dogs, Girlie Sue, Jack, and Zoeybean, four cats, Don Cato, Black Pearl, Bubby and Sissy, 12 chickens, and various wild critters that come through regularly like a mama deer that has twins every year. I am physically disabled after two back surgeries that didn’t cure what ailed me but through my writings I am able to still give to the shelter, even though I am unable to work at the shelter or donate financially. There are many, many ways individuals can help if you take a moment to think of what you can do rather than concentrate on how you are unable (or disabled). I am passionate about pets, and I hope to reach as many people as possible about the benefits of adopting a shelter dog or cat. It doesn’t matter where you are located, there are shelters in almost every county of this great country so you should have no trouble finding one close to you. Shelter dogs have so much love to give, and they are grateful for every moment they have with you. Check out www.PetFinder.com for a list of animals close to you, and please, if you can no longer care for your pet, take it to a shelter. Don’t dump them in the country and think they can take care of themselves. Thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoy reading my musings.

Thanks for what you do, we all enjoy reading it!! Please don’t stop.
Thank you for your kind words. Knowing there are people out there that enjoy what I write gives me more pleasure than these words can express. I can’t thank you enough for taking time out of your day to let me know.
